TRAINING METHODS & STRATEGIES.
I believe in the value of science. Hard and soft science. Hard science tells me to assess the data presented, hypothesize, manipulate variables according to my desired outcomes, reassess those measures; and adjust accordingly. Soft science tells me when that process needs to be tailored to each individual moment, situation, person, unprecedented event, and emotion that may present itself.
Hard science can write a hell of a 16-week strength program. Soft science sees that at week 4 your mom gets diagnosed with cancer and physical stress levels must be lessened to compensate for recent increases in emotional stress.
Hard science results in positive adaptations. Soft science results in ongoing adherence. A combination of the two result in a newfound confidence for your ability to hold yourself accountable and determine your outcomes. And in addition to science, I believe that confidence is the most transferable training benefit.

Since everything we will do together is specifically individualized to your goals, current level of fitness, and lifestyle; we must assess in order to get a launching pad of how to appropriately proceed. There are no right or wrong answers, solely data collection! This will include mobility and gross movement screens for those interested in training, as well as dietary recall logs for those interested in nutritional assistance.
-
Now, we utilize the data that we have already collected to set up behavioral changes (whether it is customized exercise programming, lifestyle modifications, dietary plans, etc.) tailored to the specific desires that you have. These alterations will consist of strategies based upon both what you need to accomplish the goal (hard science), and what you need to follow through with long-term adherence to this goal (soft science).
-
Continuously monitor progress towards the specified goals to ensure that we are producing the desired adaptations (increases in strength, mobility, endurance, body-recomposition, etc). Troubleshooting what we are doing that seems conducive to your progress and where we are missing the target.

Humbly acknowledge when our methods could be improved to better suit the direction we want to head and adjust programming & training strategies accordingly. This can also occur as goals potentially change in relation to context and the dynamic nature of life.
